The Hawthorn bonsai finally in flower

Crataegus monogyna/Common Hawthorn bonsai

After germination, the flower petals fall and the resulting berries begin to appear through the Summer. Finally in late Summer the berries have ripened and taken on their familiar red colour.

The same Hawthorn in early Winter after the leaves have fallen. The berries will often persist until the New Year........unless the birds get to them first!
